The play “On(a)” is inspired by the real lives of a married couple, Danish artists Gerda and Einar Wegener, later Lili Elbe, a transgender woman and one of the first people to undergo gender reassignment surgery.
This is an intimate and powerful story about unconditional love, the search for identity, and the courage to get to know and accept ourselves, regardless of the price that truth may carry.
The direction of the play “On(a)” was created by the ensemble itself. The text of the play is based on motifs from the film The Danish Girl.
The cast includes: Nedim Džinović, Merjem Šiljak, Faruk Hajdarević, Emina Topolović, Deni Mešić, and Enes Kozličić. Costume and set design were created by Adisa Vatreš Selimović. The visual identity was designed by Emina Lagumdžija.
Do not miss the premiere of a play that speaks about love stronger than fear and the freedom to be who we truly are.
